Getting up early in the morning in the dead of night and heading out onto the open water to collect what has been caught the night before. Being a fisherman is far from being an easy job, but it’s a rewarding one. I never knew why, but I always loved the eeriness and strange calm of a early morning on the water.

This reportage is just the first part of a personal ongoing project about fishermen. The reportage is not about any individual but about the beauty and devotion of their craft. These photos were taken on Lake Constance in Germany in summer 2014.
